Study Details:

As part of your participation in this study, you agree to initiate CPT with at least 4 patients (for new clinicians) and 6 patients (for clinicians that participated in the first CPT study). Your patient participants should be willing to have their sessions audio-recorded and submitted for potential review by an expert to assess your competence in delivering the protocol. Completion of the study and certification in the therapy will require uploading of at least 24 sessions of CPT. Some of these sessions may also be reviewed in your consultation group. If you wish to enroll more patients, you may do so during the course of the study.

Consistent with the CPT protocol, you will be asked to administer self-report questionnaires to your patient-participants prior to beginning CPT treatment with them and at every treatment session to monitor their course of treatment. These questionnaires will take the patients approximately 15 minutes to complete. In addition, your patients will complete the same self-report questionnaires 3 months after they complete their CPT treatment with you (i.e., at a follow-up appointment). All patient data will need to be faxed or scanned and will be maintained on a secure server by study staff. You may read more about this on the CPT website at www.psych.ryerson.ca/cptcanadastudy/CPT_Canada_Study/

To facilitate audio-recording of each of your treatment sessions with patients participating in this study, you will be provided a digital voice recorder by the study team. You will upload these audio files to a secure web-based server. After all of your audio-recorded treatment sessions have been uploaded for participating patients, at least four sessions will be randomly selected to be assessed for proficiency in delivering the treatment protocol. You will also report on your CPT-related activity (e.g., total number of cases, number of treatment sessions, hours of consultation) on a monthly basis throughout the study period. At the end of the study, a sample of clinicians may be selected to participate in a qualitative interview over the phone.
